Fitzroy Football Club: Great football, Great community, Great culture.

The Roys Raise Funds for Bushfire Appeal

02-Feb-2020

The Fitzroy Football Club hosted a clothes swap event on Sunday February 2 to aid in the fundraising efforts to support those affected by the Australian bushfire disaster.

The event came to be after Fitzroy-ACU Women's players Gemma Minuz and Jess Hayes approached the Fitzroy board with an idea to help raise funds. Their passion to help out in any way they could echoed that of many Australians in the community desperate to help those in need. These efforts have been so heartwarming to witness in this time of crisis. The club was all too happy to support Gemma & Jess' idea and help bring it to life to also contribute.

On Sunday at Brunswick Street Oval, the club hosted the clothes swap along with having some lovely handcrafted items for sale made by the players and a sausage sizzle and raffle.

We are pleased to announce that we we able to raise a total amount of $1121.00.

This money will be donated to the Bendigo Bank's Bushfire Appeal.

The Fitzroy Football Club wants to thank the Yarra City Council for the use of the community rooms for this event and Ez Yiap of Universal Traveller who generously donated a $100 voucher to the raffle.

The Club also wants to thank everyone who came down and contributed their hard earned to this great cause. The day was a great success and continued to show how our players embody a strong sense of community spirit that makes us so proud of them.

If you were unable to attend the event but would still like to contribute to the Bendigo Bank's Bushfire Appeal  you can do so here.
