Inner city rivals will play off for hipster bragging rights tonight when the Fitzroy-ACU Womens team takes on the Brunswick Renegades at Vic Park in the Round 3 VWFL game starting at 7pm.

The womens teams and close neighbours have decided to build up a bit of interest in this local rivalry, with a new cup being dedicated to the clash.

Fitzroy captain Alexa Madden, will be back for her first game of the season after breaking her arm in a pre-season game and will provide a boost for the home team.

There are likely to be food trucks on site and the footy will certainly be hot.

Lets see if we can get a bit of a crowd to the Friday night womens footy at Vic Park for this brand new local derby.

The Fitzroy-ACU Womens 2 team will also be at home this weekend, taking on Jacana on Ramsden St Oval on Sunday.
