Fitzroy Football Club (incorporating the Fitzroy Reds) returned a tidy profit for the year ended 31 October, 2020.

Treasurer Michael Smale announced the positive result one of the best in the clubs history at Sundays AGM, the first face-to-face event held by the club in over a year.

The incredible support of our members, with not one person asking for their membership to be refunded despite no games being played.

The sales of our masks and other merchandise exceeding all expectations.

Development of the new player wellbeing online hub (and supporting services), supported by a grant from The Community Bank Clifton Hill/North Fitzroy, and developed in partnership with sponsor, Fitzroy IT.

The commitment of our coaches to keep players connected with the club and training whenever possible, following COVID-safe AFL Victoria Return to Training requirements at all times.

A Change Our Game Community Activation Grant awarded to support the clubs first Pride game, which will be held this year, featuring our womens teams and the University of Melbourne.

Continued progress to the plans for refurbishment of the Edinburgh Gardens Sporting Precinct, the new lights at Ramdsen Street, and ongoing negotiations to continue to improve our facilities at all venues.

A successful online raffle and the launch of the Australian Sports Foundation - Fitzroy Operations Fund.

A huge thank you to our sponsors who have stayed with us as circumstances have allowed and engaged all along in positive, ongoing conversations to keep connected with the club.

Thank you to the Australian Catholic University, which has continued its ongoing support of the Fitzroy-ACU Womens Squad and the to The Community Bank Clifton Hill/North Fitzroy and State and Federal governments for COVID-related grant funding.

Sundays AGM also provided the first opportunity for members to hear from new Senior Womens Coach, Bronte Ryan, who has made an incredibly impressive start with the club and cannot wait to get her passionately motivated playing groupout on the park for Round 1.

Bronte said she had been welcomed by everyone and thanked the coaches who have paved the way. She said the club had been very accommodating to her requests for equipment and specialist coaching sessions for the women and noted the importance of the ACU Strength and Conditioning partnership.
