One of the premier players to headline the AFL's new women's competition, Western Bulldogs and Darebin Falcons forward, Katie Brennan, will be the guest speaker at the Fitzroy Presidents lunch before Fitzroy takes on the Hampton Rovers at Brunswick Street Oval on 2 July.
Brennan will be joined by an impressive line-up of AFL/VFL players and coaches including Western Bulldogsteammate Lauren Arnell, Jane Lange, who is the Senior Coach (playing coach) of the Darebin Falcons and one of the womens coaches at the Bulldogs, Elise ODea, Melissa Hickey, Darcy Vescio and Aasta OConnor.
At a very exciting time for women's football you will have the chance to ask questions of the panel.
This is the second Fitzroy Women's Football lunch. Last year's event had a great atmosphere and this lunch promises even more, now female footballers have been given a clear path to the elite level of the game.
It is election day, so get up early to vote, skip the sausage sizzle and head to Brunswick Street Oval for a great day of womens and mens footy. We hope to have a raft of Fitzroy's female players also at the lunch with coaches John Marshall and Jo Hogan also in attendance.
